You really NEED to read "Letter to a Christian Nation" by Sam Harris, it is in the bookstores now. Please do so, it will help you understand both religions and how they fit in to the current culture.

First off, organized religion is not "insane", it is what people do with it that is insane. I think that what they are doing with the children in this case is not a good thing to do (as it teaches little about the religion and does not give the children choice to believe in the religion or not). Certain humans make religions insane and can not be looked at as being the model for all religions. Religion (oganized and otherwise) is a great thing, it is what people do with religion (start wars, manipulate people, etc.) that is wrong.

So i am a catholic now not a chistian good technically nonetheless a christian however relatively exclusive believes from such a lot christian divisions. Muslims had been acted such a lot for his or her faith and being terrorist. Where as there are plenty of Christians such a lot folks realise Chrsitianity even though they are now not Christian. They understand a few person who is. Thats now not the case for muslims, plus with the media their faith will get a nasty identify rationale of a few loopy folks who do not realise their possess religion. Before i found out approximately muslim faith i believed it was once dangerous just like the folks make it out to be. Christians do not have got to look after their faith within the equal method they ones that do as you assert "end up that Jesus is learn how to heaven" are most likely the loopy christians as i name them those preaching at the part of the road and those that ssay now not to pass judgement on then say someones going to hell rationale they do not think in jesus.

It's the by-product of an instant gratification society. Convenience has rarely ever had anything to do with learning, has it? Most people form opinions and theories based on faulty information... something they got of the television as fact. Never read a book because someone else will. The information highway has is an interstate that doesn't stop off in every town like the byways of study do.

Rote learning of scriptural texts without learning the meaning is an ancient method of primary education that goes back to ancient Babylon or further. It was supposed to teach children mystical respect for the holy words, so that they would not argue with teachers when they started to learn the words and the doctrine.
It was not worth a damn in ancient Babylon, and it's not worth a damn now.
The "bible stories" that children are taught in some churches today are horrifying propaganda. And of the Christians I encounter these days, I would say that 99 percent of them are totally uninformed of their roots in faith. Or misinformed, which may be worse. Same apparently goes for Muslims, though I don't know as much about it. Certainly many of them act as though they have no understanding.

I dont know who you have been talking to, but I understand my religion. I'm christian by the way. Ask me a question, any question and I will try to answer. And this paragraph doesnt make too much sense. You go from talking about the Koran to talking about how insane christianity is.
Seriously, if you have any questions,

I personally feel that people aught to be taught to think for themselves, not blindly accept anything just because it is old and considered to be 'holy'. I feel that a lot of what is bandied about as religious 'truth' is simply silly nonsense. I am not going to go out on a limb just now and give specific examples.
