Starter Motor 150 amps momentary. Ingnition 10 amp, fuel pump 5 amp, head lights 10 amp. A/C blower 30 amps rear window defroster 25 amps. Allow +- 10 percent. The 1997 3.3 liter pathfinder alternator is was rated at 14.1 volt to 14.7 volts and output amps is +90. I have seen +100 amps momentary output. There might be a problem with your Hitachi alternator. You can always add a battery and dual battery isolator so size of the amp is related to how much hearing loss you can stand.

Typically, your car will use about 20 amps at worst case scenario. So that leaves 30 amps, so you could run about 175 watt RMS system total with no problems. Any higher than that, then I would suggest an alternator upgrade.

It takes 12 volts to run a car.
Your car has a stereo already, the extra power will not require a new alternator. It will, however, require that your alternator is charging you battery properly at 14 amps.

hmmm i wouldnt bother about that, my friend runs a 1000 watts amp on his stock battery and if u need any more power invest in capictors as opposed to new alternator. they say have like 1 farad for every 1000 watts

onlinecarstereo.com sells them cheap. capicitors are capicitors so i dont think brand shuld really matter just make sure to get enuff and a thick enuff guage wire to install properly

You may have a slightly larger output alternator than that, however there is no way you can run all your accessories (heater, wipers, lights) at once PLUS a booming amp.You may want to seek out a 200amp 1-wire alternator (EBay?) and also use one of those spiral cell batteries (they recharge faster and last longer).

WHY DO YOU WANT TO RUN ONE OF THOSE THINGS. THEY ARE A VIOLATION OF THE NOISE LAW AND YOU GONNA GET A TICKET. YOU SHOULD HAVE TO BE CLOSED UP IN A SMALL ROOM AND HAVE TO LISTEN TO THAT CRAP FOR A WHILE
