McAfee does run quite heavy on your memory and frankly so does Norton. I've used them all and frankly the best anti-virus software is PC-Cillin. It comes with all the options such as firewall, antiphishing, anti-virus, etc. It runs low on your memory and works the best.

i would suggest that you use ZoneAlarm Security Suite. Its the best and your system will not be slown down, like the other antivirus softwares do to your computer. Most of the antiviruses like mcafee and Nortan, just slow your computer down.

It doesn't matter if it is free or costs $200, it probably won't catch all the bugs. I use Norton, it is updated weekly, and I haven't had any problems.
