i've spent hours and hours with a catnip mouse attached to the end of some fishing line on my fishing pole. i'll cast the mouse to the other end of the room and slowly reel it in. i'll twitch the pole a bit to make the mouse twitch as well. my cats would hunker down and stalk the mouse---their eyes were solid pupils! then they'd strike! they'd jump on the mouse and try to tear it to shreds. when they'd stopped tearing the mouse up i'd jerk it up out of their reach and recast. we could play like this for hours.
another thing i liked to do with my cats is have them chase a laser pointer---they would keep going till the batteries wore out! they loved chasing that little dot! it was funny, when they'd 'catch' the light i'd turn the pointer off so they would think it was under their paws. then they'd cautiously open first one paw, then the other to bite at the light, but it would be gone.
they love boxes on the floor or empty paper bags---they love this kind of stuff.
one of my favorite games with my cats was to peek at them from around a corner. if i was ready to walk into the living room and i'd see a cat in there who hadn't seen me yet i'd drop down on all fours and creep over to the door way. then i'd peek at them and make a pssst noise till they noticed me. once they noticed me, they couldn't stand for anyone to be peeking at them, so they'd slowly get up and slowly creep over to where i was to pounce on me. it was great!

My cats enjoy any games that are interactive with me. In other words, feathers or something on the end of a string which is attached to a wand for me to hold and move about.
They also love chasing a laser light. You need to be very careful not to shine it into their eyes though.
One of my cats likes to play 'catch'. I toss a soft toy to her -- she catches it. We do that over and over.
Another of my cats likes for me to bounce or roll a ball for her to chase and bat around.
They also like an open box or an open paper bag -- especially if you toss a toy into it.
A bowl with a piece of ice in it can be very entertaining!

ahhhh! Me and my kitty Tigger LOVE games!
Ours is called "Pouncy Pant leg"
When he was little, I used to tease him with treats to get him to crawl up my pant leg. Now that he's almost a year old, he's too big to climb without tearing me to shreds so... I ask him if he wants a special treat and I begin walking the other way and he starts heading towards me and then he jumps onto my pant leg (he sort of wraps his arms around my leg)... he'll hang there for a little bit until I give him his treat but I can't let him wait too long or... he'll start climbing. Ouchy!
