For those of you who are against Abortion then please if your not going to put a monetary value on the price of abortion then don't waste space on here, and also answer this, is it better for a child to grow up in a poor family and with parents who don't want them, just because they didn't get an abortion. Having unwanted or unplanned kids is one of the top causes of poverty.

While every clinic will charge you different prices, here's a website to a clinic in Alabama. On here, they will explain alot about the procedure, cost, etc.

National Abortion Federation (www.prochoice.org) states that 1 out of 3 American women will have an abortion by age 45. 1 in 3! And that 88% of these take place in the first trimester. If that's true where are all these anti-abortion folks coming from on Yahoo! Answers? I've never seen anything like this, it completely contradicts my reality. My reality is that perhaps 15-20% of my patients list at least one elective termination on their patient histories (for gyn surgeries) prenatal records (for pregnant women). Maybe it's because I live in a large liberal metropolitan area in Southern California and not a more conservative area?
Anyway to answer your QUESTION the same website states:
"The exact cost of an abortion depends on many factors, such as how far along the pregnancy is, the kind of procedure and anesthetic that are used, and the kind of facility (clinic, physician's office, or hospital).
In general, though, women getting an abortion between six and ten weeks' gestation can expect to pay about $350 at an abortion clinic and $500 at a physician's office. Performing abortions later in pregnancy is somewhat more complicated, and is usually more expensive. For example, at 16 weeks gestation, abortion clinics generally charge around $650 and physicians' offices generally charge around $700. After the 20th week, the cost rises to above $1,000.2
Other costs might result if care is not available locally. These might include travel costs, costs for overnight stays, or lost wages in states requiring waiting periods between pre-abortion counseling and the abortion itself."

Anywhere from $250 to $700 depending on where you live and where you go. It usually consists of 3 visits which at each time you pay a certain amount but they will give you the full price up front. The first visit is to verfy the pregnancy, do bloodwork, and speak with a mental health specialist to make sure that this is something she wants to do and/or that someone isn't forcing her to do it. If all went well then there is the second visit which is the actual procedure itself. If it's a first abortion she will have to be given medicine to dilate her uterus and it usually can take about an hour for them to kick in. The procedure is quick but the time spent in the office depends on how many patients are there. The third visit is to make sure there isn't an infection (they give antibiotics after the procedure) and make sure that the abortion took.
Don't listen to the ones giving you grief about it. They wont adopt that child. I see some many people opposing abortion but none of them have adopted children nor have they made any difference in the lives of the unwanted children in the system right now. The white ones don't want a minority child and most don't want a child with birth defects, health problems, or born to drug addicted parents.

I see most everyone else is more interested in your morals than answering your question...
It depends on what type of abortion you are getting and where you are getting it done. It's more expensive through a private doctor, less expensive through a clinic.
Here are the clinic prices as taken from a clinic's website in my area:
Up to 8 weeks (abortion pill) $445
6 to 11 weeks $340*
12 weeks $490
13 weels $490
14 weels $555
15* weeks $555
16* weeks $605
17* weeks $645
18 weeks $705
19 weeks $745
20 weeks $845
21 weeks $1,050
22 weeks $1,300
23 weeks $1,500
I'm sure I'll get lots of bad remarks for posting this, but this is Yahoo! Answers. Not church.

It usually costs around $2,500. There are programs for relief, and most insurance will pay for it.
