Yes, kids these days should be more mature in 7th grade because of better technology, but some still lack common sense to take care of their bodies and teeth, hair.
They should be more into physical activity too, instead of TV and internet.

Comparisons always require at least two things.
In general, if it helps to know, I think 6th through 12th graders are highly immature, but you're learning to be adults, so that's normal. In other words, I don't see it as a bad thing; it just is what it is.
