Yes there are plenty of appraisers in the US I do know that they have to have a license. Most have had a college class or have an Equnie type of degree. Or have been long involved with the racing industry.

A bloodstock agent could answer this question. My former trainer became a bloodstock agent and now is involved with buying and selling some of the highest priced horses in North America.

You may want to ask him. Look up Mark Reid.

I don't believe there is a special license other than the ones required for training.

As with all breeds of horse (dog, cat...) I believe their bloodlines speak for themselves. I've never heard of appraising thoroughbreds -- or any other breed. Interesitng

no.. but they are agents between the breeding farms and trainers... go to the "daily racing form" for more info
