That's an issue. If the knobs on the existing tires are really big that might be the problem. I would look for tires that are either smooth or have very small knobs. I have seen quite a few "smooth" tires that are intended for street and skate park use. Any bike or sport shop that deals with BMX and freestyle bikes can help you further with this issue.

offroad tires will not work as well as slicker treads on pavement. for riding at a skatepart, you should get fairly wide, semi slick tires. check your local bike shop. your treads may be wearig out too. i have a 2.4" WTB motoraptor on my rear and i ride alot on road and i never slide out- i have trouble losing traction if i feel like skidding. anyway, try some 2.2"-2.5" semi slicks. a good set will be around $30-50 per tire. dont forget to buy tubes to match the size.

manufacture followed by model of tire, no particular order
Maxxis: hookworm, ringworm, or m-tread
Primo: wall, primo pro or possibly the v-monster
Odyssey: earthscience, path, elm street or frequency G
Animal: GHL or ASM

All are more of a smoother tread design for ramp or street riding. Most will go to 90 or more psi (depends on the tire) for less of a chance for pinch flats & damaging the rim when hitting a hard landing.

I admit that I really don't know much about tires for skate park, but Maxxis has some (I think Hookworms, or something similar) that looks pretty good for that application.
