the color will fade out! dont worry
i dyed my hair dark brown last time, and it looked like it was black too! but then after a couple of showers the color got considerably lighter.
so dont worry, even if it is permanent it fades/washes out.
you could possibly not have washed all of the dye out of your hair and it looks really dark
good luck!

You can go to the local beauty supply and get a shampoo that strips off some (notice I said some) of the color. The color will lighten the more it is shampooed. All hair color that is applied appears darker at first because dark shades fade out. That is why they make so many shampoos now for color treated hair that are to help with "fading". If the local beauty supply does not have the stripper- then try a couple of washes with Dawn Dishwashing Detergent. Other than those ideas- a recolor is going to be rather difficult fro you to achieve the color that you set out to have. I am a hairstylist of 17 years.

Unfortunately, you may not like what I have to say. But you may need to color it again. Before you color it again first keep in mind that dark colors will fade, and when the do normally it will become the color you wanted in the first place. It may take a couple of week but the easiest way to tell if it is fading is watch the color of the shampoo suds, are they they colored, is the rinse water colored. That will tell you if it is fading. If it is be patient it will eventually get to the color you wanted or at least close to it. Another thing you may want to try is shampooing your hair with dawn dish soap. I had the same problem as you and used dawn, and it helped fade it out faster. But make sure you condition the heck out of your hair after wards to make sure you don't dry it out too much. Hope this helps and good luck!!

I dyed my hair black for some months also (im a blonde). when I were given waiting to take it out i used colour oops reason i quite didnt wanna bleach/strip it out (too a lot damage). I wasnt left with blonde hair even if it truly wasnt black anymore....i didnt persist with the guidelines completely (i change into in a chilly room and didnt rinse it lengthy adequate). Ive examine the position a lady used it after 10 years of black dye and all of it got here out. id supply it a attempt if i have been you, it doesnt damage hair like a hair stripper would (reason it doesnt strip colour it shrinks pigment) so if it didnt paintings then you should offer it an afternoon or 2 then attempt the colour remover/stripper.

Luckily, Halloween is just around the corner. =)
But seriously...
I strongly doubt you'd be able to get brown into it without re-dying it.
You'll probably need to dye it a light colour to make the black go away then try re-dying your hair to dark brown. =3

Im sorry to tell you that black is one of the hardest colors to remove. I would suggest repeatedly shampooing your hair to try and soften the color, but you might want to consult with a colorist to save your hair, because repeated colorings can be very damaging and even cause hairloss in some people.

That happened to me one time but it turned green, because I used an ash brown. The girl who answered at first was right. Go to a good stylist at a hair salon and she can help you get the color you want.
