My daughter won't do what I tell her. Often I tell her organize her clothing for the next day or clean up her toys. I tell her why it's important to listen to my commands. She just does what she wants. Should I beat her harder? She is three years old.

Back off. It's a legitimate question from a woman who is probably not "beating" her child the way you guys are making it seem. She is probably giving spankings. And maybe all your little angels have never required a slap on the hand, or on the pamper, but many get the point with that, and not with the sugar coated honey drops.
Miss, Don't BEAT your children. My father whooped my *** so hard I still feel it, he used belts, paddles, spiked rods, fists and anything else you can name. That was abuse. A spanking in under the right circumstances is not. If your child goes to stick a tweezer in the electrical socket smack his hand and explain why...and continue to teach...spanking will not teach your kid to be good..get it. After a certain age..there should be no more spankings. When they are able to talk well, and comprehend well, and explain to you that they know what you are explaining to them and why...Good Luck. And don't mentally abuse them either. If your yelling at them...watch what you are saying and how you are saying it.

I really hope that this is a joke. If not, I fear for your daughters safety. Beating your children for punishment has a very negative affect on the child (not just now but for the rest of her life). If you beat your daughter, don't expect to have a very good relationship with you when she is older. If it is a huge problem seek professional help. Your kids life it too valuable to screw up.

no don't beat her harder but you need to been stern with her. She is 3 years old if she is not listening now she won't listen. 2-7 are the most important ages to rear a child . so be careful b/c you don't want a bad impact to affect her for the rest of her life. Discipline her and stick with it.

You can't be serious. I hope to god for your childs sake that you're not. Hitting a 3 year old is sad.. I mean, yeah, a little slap on the hand or the butt is ok here and there..but beating a child? What is wrong with you?

by beat i am going to assume you mean spank... if this isnt working dont let her play outside make her sit down and not do anything, no tv no games and no friends over...she might not understand what you want her to do... try helping her by giving her a few choices instead of go do it..ex you want her to pick out an outfit to wear the next day go into her room pick out two or three for her to choose from and ask her which she wants... she is three and problably dont understand go pick somehting out

"speared the rod, spoil the child." some of you people on here think that she is abusing her child. I HAVE TO SAY SOME KID(S) NEEDS A BEATING AT SOME POINT. a spanking real hard on the bottom will straighten her out if she refused to do after many times. you'll see how fast she move. at three you still have control of disciplining, by 10,12,13 forget about it. gesh, some people on here think it's forbidden.

Why are you beating your children? That makes no sense. I bet you pick apart what they do when they try to do what you say, just so you can beat them some more. You're out of control.
You said it yourself. She is three years old. Leave room for errors. She surely will forgive you of yours....
