I am sure you will be asked about this conviction when you apply for loans so be prepared to answer honestly. Be honest and let them know what happened. We all make mistakes.

Fill out the information required and go on the Internet. There are many sites that will give you loan information. Remember there is no reason to pay for this information. It is free. There are many companies that will offer you scholarships too. Apply to all of them. You will never know who will give them.

You are NOT eligible for federal financial aid. However, that is not all that is out there. Fill out the FAFSA honestly and submit it to the schools you want to go to. Then, get online and start looking for scholarships. ALSO, look under social services in the phone book or conact NA or another group program and ask them. There ar state agencies that offer financial help to recovering addicts and other criminals if their goal is to enter the legitimate world of work.

When filling out the FAFSA there is a question about drug offenses. And don't think about lying, they'll have your social security number and can run checks.
Good luck though, hopefully you're looking to turn your life around. who knows, maybe there are scholarships out there for you!

No federal funds are available; probably no state funds. However, you can always seek grant money from foundations and charitable organizations. I know a young college woman who wrote essays and earned over $5000 toward her college education... start looking locally, and expand your site from there. Money is available... but you are correct in that it's harder once you have a felony on your record.
