This morning i woke up but couldn't move. I eyes were open but I tried to move and I really couldnt. I calmed down, closed my eyes and opend them back up. Then I could move and I remember that it had happened to me before. I kept thinking about it so that I wouldnt forget to ask someone, and then when i was wide awake i still remembered it but it seemed kind of dumb and i really dont remember it happening any other time tho i know it did.

If this happened to you please tell me Im not going insane, does anyone know why it happens? Thanks!

Crazy that I saw this question because yes, it has happened to me before and it actually happened to me when I was napping this afternoon. It's a scary thing sometimes, especially when you're still mostly dreaming and you try to call out and you cannot. It's a very hazy event when it happens to me, like I'm fading between dream and reality. I've heard things too, that weren't there of course, like screams of other people, that make me have anxiety attacks on top of the paralysis. Thank you for asking because I never knew it had a name...

It's normal. It's called sleep paralysis. Happens to me all the time-especially if I'm napping during the day. Just do exactly what you did to get "out" of it. Relax, and close your eyes like you're trying to go back to sleep.

Yes. That has happened to me before. It's called sleep paralysis. If it happens again just let yourself relax and it will usually go away.

there are actually 3 stages in sleeping that we are going to dream... the first part is the 1st 3 hours when you sleep, 2nd part is at the middle part, then the last part IS,,,,,, when you are about to wake up...

,,,and the experience that you had was that: = YOU ARE JUST DREAMING,,, it happened to me many times already... and if fact,, I was being advise to see a doctor about this... and was advise to sleep with relaxed mind,,, meaning empty your mind before sleeping --- it causes STRESS even though you're asleep...
