I'm 64 years of age and I have experienced this feeling of aloneness since I was in Jr. High School. First of all you are not the only one who feels this way. There are many of us. Just this past Friday I hosted a family reunion for my family and friends and still had moments where I felt that I was on the outside looking in - in my own home no less. When I get these thoughts I find someone, adult or child, to talk to, one-on-one. On the plus side, over the years I realize that I have become a good listener. And good listeners are few and far between. I don't feel an urgency to always be in the limelight. Good luck to you. You will find your way, just as I have done.

There could be any number of reasons. Being around people does not mean that you are part of their group and so they will tend to ignore you. Are there people who you do not feel alone with. You need to identify what is different about being around these people as opposed to around people that leave you feeling alone. Once you identify that, then you need to expend it to cover other people that you are near.

Yes. Probably a pile of meaningless mumbo jumbo but I think there may be something in there that you could use. I think that is what I did, but I've never been sure I could express it.

Sometimes when I am in a crowd of people I feel alone too. I never really understood that. For me I think it is because I don't think anyone really gets me. Try sourrounding yourself with people you know and love, maybe then you won't feel so alone.

cos in you're mind it's like those people aren't like you so you're still alone. I'm the same, unlike anyone and I feel lonely and different, I can relate. Sometimes people aren't company cos they can't understand you or they're not like you. I am the same, and I know not the reason why.

maybe because most people are drawn by the mass consumerism that is sport and fashion and you are able to see through this cheap facade of self importance?
If you're doing that then, chances are you realise what most don't.
