Well, yes - if you have the stamina to whip your whipper long enough to do it. Lets face it - poeple were making meringue long before they had beaters.

You can, but it isn't easy. Meringues were made before the advent of electric mixers, but that's a lot of beating by hand.

You technically can, but it would be difficult. You would need to beat it for so long and quickly, that it would be much easier to just use a beater.

Yes but it takes a lot of arm power. I've done it numerous times. If you have a copper bowl will help your merangue puff up higher.

Yes, if your arm muscles are up for it. I've done it before and let me tell you it is a work out. Don't use a plastic bowl.

yes, but it would be time-consuming! an electric hand mixer can be found for 10$ or less.
