Tough one.
Lauterbrunnen, Switzerland is AMAZING. SO beautiful. It is the stereotypical, quaint Swizz village nestled in the Swiss Alps. The two adjoining villages (Wengen and Murren) are also phenomenal. Lauterbrunnen sits in the valley while the other two villages overlook the valley. You can take trains to the two villages or hike to them. Little houses "dot" the hillsides & fields just like you see in all of the photos.
I would love to visit the Cook Islands someday. I would also love to visit Lake Como and Venice in Italy.

Paris (France, not Texas!). I wanted to visit the city of lights since I was eight years old (to this day I have NO idea how I got that idea!). I actually made it nearly 20 years later (and have the photos and stamp in my passport to prove it!).
Ironically, I subsequently moved to Europe; Paris is now only several hours' drive away and I've lost count of the times I've been back.
Why?
The center of the city is beautifully laid out with huge boulevards, lots of green (parks and gardens) and public art. The museums are fantastic -- my favorite is the Musee d'Orsay with its incredible collection of Impressionist art. There are fascinating antiquities (and a lot of my favorite Renaissance artists like Botticelli and Leonardo) in the Louvre. The Centre Pompidou has an interesting contemporary art collection and great special exhibitions (saw a breathtaking Jackson Pollock retrospective there) and the Picasso Museum speaks for itself!
French women have the most incredible fashion sense; they can make a pair of jeans and a T-shirt look stunning. I can't afford them but the Paris fashion designers make some of the most beautiful clothes in the world (think John Galliano at Dior, Jean-Paul Gautier).
The food is great and so is the cafe life.
I never get tired or bored with that wonderful place (obviously)!

I would say Prague but I was born there and haven't visited there since I moved, so it's not considered as visit, because it's one of the beautiful European places. :) Great good, lovely scenerios and so on.
But my favourite city in the world I've ever visited is Bridgetown, in Barbados, because they have a lot to offer, i.e. the sights are pretty, interesting stuff there, i.e. food. They even have Internet cafes at different prices. Barbados is my favourite country afterall.

Stockholm, Sweden, is between the international's maximum eye-catching capitals. you're in no way extra desirable than a 10-minute stroll from a green area, and due to Sweden's neutrality in the international wars, the form is actual, not rebuilt from the rubble of conflict. there's a super way of existence scene, be it opera or theatre or movie, rankings of amazing eating places, super procuring, and the T-bana, or subway, is asserted as "the international's longest artwork gallery." each and every station is a different cultural journey in itself. the city is tidy and clean and delightful for strolling. in actuality, the water in Stockholm Harbor is so clean you may swim in it real in the middle of the city (nevertheless it quite is somewhat on the clean section, yet feels super on a heat summer's day). Cultural treasures incorporate the seventeenth-century warship "Wasa" raised extra desirable than ninety % intact from its grave on the backside of the harbor to the Skansen architectural shield and the attention-catching old homes around the Royal Palace. Do incorporate Stockholm on your international travels!

Paris, New York
Paris because it really is romantic and beautiful, classy.
New York because it has such a strong and deep personality. the people there are all part of the personality too, same with paris. they'rte very unique places, because the people make it so, and it is reflected in the cities restaurants, traffic, scenery, etc. LA sucks. Seattle's really cool

Zanzibar
A stunning jewel, smelling of naturally growing herbs and spices, people of all races, religions and colours, mingling and living in harmony.
Wonderful stretches of powder fine white beaches, lovely historic islands close by.
This may have changed since I lived there in 1994, but I would like to think it's still not destroyed by tourism.
