It means a "defense of the faith". For instance, there is a book called "The Case for Christ" by Lee Strobel. In my opinion, the most brilliant apologetics book I've read.

A Christian apologetic is someone who defends the Christian faith. Whether by answering questions, or debating others in defence of your Christian faith. Almost all pastors have to go to theology school, where there is an entire course on just Christian Apologetics. Basically, it's providing evidence for your belief system, which in this case is Christianity.

Apologetics comes from the Greek word "apologia" which means reason or defense. Christian apologetics is concerned with giving a reason or defense for the faith. One who practices apologetics is called an apologist.

It has nothing to do with apologizing (other than having the same root word).

Apologetics comes from the Greek, meaning "to defend".

Apologetics is the "art" of defending and explaining the faith.

Christians can be happily walked over and accept any sin of their leaders as long as they say they're sorry. But at the same time they'll hate whole groups who they never met with because some charlatan says to.

frankly a person who is somewhat unsure of there covictions belief! To be apologetic is to try and justify your beliefs/ or to defend them. My opinions are my own and I certainly never feel I need to justify or defend them, whether religion/politics or general life is concerned!
