i want a 800w or a 1000w rockwood amp i wanted to know if they are good amps.one other thing is are the better then dual amps?

i am geting 1 more sdat 12" 500w subwoofer would the 800w amp be able to power the subs,or would the 1000w amp be better?the subes are going to be in a ported box.they run 2ohms wach and i want to bridge them.

well first off, if you plan to run two amps, i would recommend a 4-gauge power wire. this will allow both amps to get good power and keep your amps from clipping or cutting out when the bass hits. Both Rockwood and Dual amps are fairly cheap amps that aren't the best. they will get the job done if you are trying to save money but to be honest, you would be better off buying a Sony amp from Wal-mart. it's not about the name, but about the quality, even though Sony isn't the greatest. But all in all you get what you pay for.

I have a bd1000 rockford fosgate amp and it works well. I also have a bd 500. They both work well. The dual amps are especially good if you are outputting to two sources such as highs and lows. If you are using an amp for just subs then a sing channel will work fine. If you are dealing with a great deal of wattage you will want to look into thick guage wires such as 8 or even less. My amp powers three JL audio w3 subwoofers. It sounds good.

they are both generic sometimes its good to spend a few more dillars and get the good things in like but then again i do have an ma audio amp powering 1000 rms and it sounds just fine

rockwood's are just fine and a single is just fine ,depending on how much wattage your car can take duals are nice but a couple of singles are just as good
