1) Bodily tension uses energy. Eye muscles, neck, traps, back & right leg especially.

2) Fluids fall to lower parts of the body. The lymphatic system & the venous blood are returned to the circulatory system through movement of the voluntary muscles, which you don't do much of while sitting, (especially the leg muscles)

3) Mental attention uses energy. Driving requires alot of mental attention & the brain is very actively making measurements & assessments of speed, distance, comparative relationships of objects, etc.

4) Exposure to the electromagnetic fields generated by the car.
There is some evidence that emf exposure effects living tissue, which makes sense considering that living tissue is alive through moving ions around - shifting charges back & forth.

Fortunately the effect of these processes are reversable.

Safe driving!

But you HAVE done something, you have driven all day. Although it's somewhat automatic, it still takes it's toll. And it can be incredibly boring too, which makes you tired also.
