ok,i was reading a magasine i buyed about science,the magasine said that every year a kind of bird extinct,and from now on,there will extinct 5 per year,and by now,500 has extinct sinse 500 years ago,so i wanted to know,i remembered that i was in the dentist like in january and i saw a magasin of national geographic with a documentary about a bird that was about to extinct,but the magasin was from june of 1997,so the bird by now has to be extincted,but i remember the pictures a little,what i cant remember,and i tried looking in yahoo images,was the name,it was a beautifull bird(DUH!!) with a really long tail,i think the bird was green,but i dont know if its the only color,i think it also had yellow and red,but it had a beautifull long tail,by then,i remember the name was something like quesacotl,but thats the name in spanish, but,to those who played final fantasy 8 once,it was the first summon that appears in the game,the electric one.anyway,if someoe knows the name,please tell me,

You're talking about a "quetzal" - they are from Central America and really are so beautiful. Here is a picture:

The species you're mentioning is the Quetzal from south America. It's pretty rare and they're fighting to save it from extinction. Right now the rarest bird in the world is the Spix Macaw, which is a type of parrot. In 1997 there was one bird left in the wild but it has since disappeared. They have about 60-70 birds in captivity and Brazil is trying to breed them. So far there's been problems because lots of people have bought the birds illegally and they don't want to loose possession of their birds.

Quezacotl is the name of the Final Fantasy 8 character. I believe it was named after an ancient Aztec god or something.
