If she's too hard to walk because she pulls, invest in a Gentle Leader or Halti. Both are great & stop dogs from pulling.
You need to mentally stimulate her. Take her to obedience classes. This will give her a chance to socialize with other dogs while teaching her basic obedience & to obey you.
What you need to do is take the ALPHA role. You need to ma eher realize you are in control & that she needs to obey you. Start with making her earn her food. Make her sit before treating/feeding her. If she doesn't know how to sit. Put her on a leash, in your yard. And simply drag the treat above her head to get her into a sit position.
If she tries to jump. Snap the lead to get her back into place & give a stern no. Never hit your dog. If she doesn't catch on that way, physically place her in the position. As soon as she's done what you asked of her, you need to lavish her with praise.
She will become destructive & depressed if she never gets walked or given any mental stimulation. Play with her. If you are strong enough, play tug with her. Make sure you ALWAYS win & put the toy away out of reach when done. This will help establish your ALPHA role.
Maybe, get a tin can & fill it with some nuts & bolts or rocks. Shake it & make a loud rattle noise when she's misbehaving to distract her & give her a correction noise such as "Bah" or "No" or a hiss. Whatever you choose...but be persistent with it.
As soon as she stops doing the wrong behaviour, praise her again.
To have a well behaved dog, it requires time, patience & persistence. Hyperactivity is all a part of puppyhood. It's your responsibility as an owner to teach her right from wrong & make her an acceptable member of your household.
Maybe buy some books or search for websites. They too can be very helpful with DYI Basic Training.

If you have never watched the tv show the dog whisperer you need to do so. Some of the things that he shows will help you alot. By putting your dog in the backyard is not helping the problem it is taking her away from the problem. It will in time make things worse. She needs a lot of excersize to make her tired and she will be better. Not completely but it helps. German shepards are naturally hyper dogs. When you take her for a walk put the leash right under her ears and around her throat. Get either what is call a choak chain or a leash that when she pulls or you pull it tightens around her neck. What the leash under her ears does is prevents your dog from sniffing the ground and pretty much controlling you. I have a dog to who was very hyper and very annoying. I tried this and he is a completly different dog when we walk him. When their leash is so far up on there neck it shows them that you control them not the other way around. Right now she knows that she runs you so it is best to stop it now before your dog gets to be to much. Make sure she stays right at your side at all times. And just relax. On the tv show he stats " hold your dogs leash like you would a breif case, at your side and walk in a calm manor." When you take her for a walk it needs to be a long walk. Something that will ware her out. If she will run next to you on a bike try that or if you have a tred mill try that. Put it at a slow speed, so she is at a very slow run and do that once a day for about 10-15 mins to start and then do more as she gets used to it. Never leave her along on it. But you need to ware her out. I promise she will be a different dog. Watch the show THE DOG WHISPERER you will learn a lot from him. Good luck

She's bored and not getting enough exercise. Play fetch with her in the backyard before going on the walk. Wearing her down a little prior to the walk will help her walk better with you.
Also- no long leashes. She should walk right next to you. Buy a choke/prawn collar that fits high on the neck for walking her. She won't pull on the leash when she feels the pinch of the collar. Once you start walking her, and her not walking you, you will find a happy balance in your home.
She is a smart working dog, and she is not getting the chance to do behave like her breed instincts want her to do. Give her the chance to fill that need, you you will love your dog so much more than you do now because she will amaze you.

a lot of time when a dog is hyper means they do not get enough attention from people. Maybe you would want to spend more time with the dog. Like one on one. But then again, some dogs are just naturally hyper. YOu can try to excerise him. I have one at home. My dad would take him out once in the morning, afternoon and at night. You do not have to it out for too long, maybe just 20 mins max. If it still doesnt work.. then.. GOOD LUCK.. hahah

I have a hyper male.Your answer is EXERCISE!
Take her somewhere she can run off-leash every day.If you can't get her to heel then tie a 100 ft.clothesline to her collar and hold the other end.
I have an 1100 acre park near-by that we go to everyday and it takes us about an hour and a half to walk 3 miles. The dogs go farther than I do since they're not leashed but they take a 2 hr.nap as soon as we get home and my hyper dog is much more willing to pay attention and do as he's told after his walk.

This dog is not hyper, she is very intelligent and active, which is normal. She needs a lot of mental stimulation which would involve postiive training (look into clicker training at clickersolutions.com), and a lot of exercise such as going to a good doggy daycare, joining an doggy agility team - something where she will use her mind and her physcial abilities.

this may sound kind of odd but what my uncle does with his farm dogs is (its really gross) he pees on them. this lets them know that he is boss and theres no fooling around. he went to a specialist for it coz one of his dogs was really disobedient. Kinda tricky if you are a female but an alternative is to stick a bit of cheese in your armpit for a few hours then feed it too the dog. Again it sounds stupid but it has worked for him :)

One factor you'll check out with the chewing and biting is allow him do it till it hurts after which SCREAM loud and clutch the harm discipline and switch round and give up gambling with him. If that does not paintings, and honestly encourages him, while he bites too rough, QICKLY grasp his reduce jaw for your hand and pull it down rapid, even as making a noisy, rapid, growly, NO!. Let cross while he begins to whimper. This does now not harm him -it is what a wolf might do to him within the wild. If he attempts to chunk you extra, supply his jaw a 'little' jerk and shout NO once more. Another factor you'll do, is pull his ear, or his again foot into the way in which of his enamel, so he bites them. Anyway -he must notice that matters which might be frightening, or now not amusing will occur while he's naughty. Oh -and it's not totally dangerous to scold and 'smack' your doggy. Here is the correct, non detrimental option to 'smack' your doggy. Grasp the dog's scruff in a single hand and raise his entrance ft off the bottom, cup your different hand and cuff him below the jaw with it in a single rapid movement. This will by and large stun the dog (or grownup puppy), and it's going to now not bodily damage him. Most puppy's simplest want one cuff to be corrected. Another option to punish him is to seize his scruff and simply elevate his entrance ft off the bottom and supply slightly shake -that is precisely how the mum puppy might punish him if he was once being too rambunctious. It's typical for a puppy being bathed to wriggle round -simply make the dog do what you wish to have and he's going to ultimately gain knowledge of his location. Make certain you supply him a deal with proper after the bathtub! Try placing tobasco sauce or sour apple spray on doggie deterent at the leaves of the plant -that are meant to deter him If you're afraid to make use of a choke chain, get him a sequence and martingale collar (appear them up), you'll uncover those at petco or petsmart (have no idea which, I combine them up, lol). The entrance is product of nylon, with 2 D-jewelry on both part, attached by means of a loop of chain, which has a D-ring on it for the leash to connect to. This collar works by means of tightening the nylon side of the collar by means of making use of the chain (the chain does now not tighten at the puppy's neck), and inflicting the press sign from the chain sliding over the steel. Remember to paintings a collar and chain with brisk little jerks, that method you're now not placing lengthy strain for your puppy's neck. If your dog isn't obeying you, supply him a sequence of rapid jerks, pulling him again (that is while he's being naughty, jogging badly on his lead). It is OKAY in case your dog falls over whilst you do that -he isn't injured, and dogs are very clumsy. Remember to make use of tasty treats while you're coaching him! Tiny bits of cheese, scorching-puppies, bird - attend an obedience institution -they'll aid you soooo so much. Your puppy gets socialized and you'll gain knowledge of the right way to coach him to do what you wish to have/wish him to do. Sorry I wrote a booklet for you right here -however I love puppies and recognize a little bit approximately them. Good success along with your dog! Enjoy -this degree does not final for lengthy!
