At his age, it requires a lot of attention and vigilance to catch him each time.
Routine is the key..
Feed 4 times per day at the same times daily..Put the bowl away after 10 minutes..
Take him outside after every feeding. He will go about 10-15 minutes after being fed, at his age. It will take awhile for him to learn/develop bladder control, but potty should be easier. Feed on a strict schedule, so that he isn't fed just before bedtime, as he will need to go shortly after being fed..Young pups should be fed and then walked 4 times per day, UNTIL THEY POOP...He will need more frequent outings for peeing...Walk him just before bedtime, to make certain he is empty..
Never scold for mistakes, but give lavish praise every time he goes outside, like he won the spelling bee.....Pups can only hold their pee for 1 hour, per month of age..So, its important to empty them just before bedtime..
Use the same word every time, such as 'do the doody', or whatever..
The most important thing is to watch him closely, and scoop him up and outside when he begins to act restless, turn circles, etc. soon he will whine and look at you when he needs to go.

Try this - when you take him out and he goes use a certain word such as 'hurry' or 'pee' and/or 'poop'. If he is smart enough to go in the kennel with one word then he should catch on to that rather quickly. Then, give him a treat right then so he knows that it was an accepted behavior. When you catch him going in the house, make him go to his kennel for time-out. He will soon get the idea. Puppies can learn one new word or short phrase per week. So, give him a few weeks to get each word down before introducing a new word. Good Luck! You may also consider having him neutered pretty quick too - this will make the training easier and will keep him from having a relapse when he starts getting the urge to mark his territory.

After being kept in a kennel, I would imagine hes just too excited to control it. He might think he is being punished when he goes into the kennel. Also, you might try moving the pads or newspapers closer to the door everytime he pees on it until it is outside and if he is smart, he will see that he pees outside.

take him out about every two hours, particularly after meals or playtime. watch closely and when he starts to pee outside say a cue word such as "potty" then praise him to high heavens. he will learn to associate the word with the action and the praise. when he makes a mistake in the house you have to catch him as it is happening and say "no" take him out and use the cue word. if you find the wet spot after it happens scolding will not help because he will not associate the two together. he is young so you have to take it into account that accidents will happen. limit his areas of the house to just one room at a time so that he won't have the opportunity to get out of your eyesight. he has already learned not to pee where he sleeps so, it won't be much longer before he learns to not pee where he plays. be patient, firm, kind and consistent, he will learn. it will also help if he is taken to the same spot in the yard each time so he can smell where he has "been" before. GOOD LUCK!

strong lord, why is eliminating him even dealing with your head? he's an outdoors canines and obviously hasn't been potty experienced. A canines doesn't merely without delay do not ignore that his bathroom is outdoors, you should coach him. in view that he retains going back to a similar spot, i ask your self in case you proper dealt with the coincidence with something which will conceal the scent. in case you probably did not, then because of this he is going back to that similar spot over and yet another time. At 6 months he would nicely be marking his territory if he's not neutered, even if it quite seems that he merely hasn't been potty experienced. Get a clicker and take him outdoors each and every hour for 2 weeks. even as he is going, click your clicker and resources him a take care of. quickly he will initiate to whine and scratch on the door even as he has to pass. that's no longer that complicated, yet you should coach him. Geez, do not get rid of the canines. If something, he ought to get rid of you.

Chetco is right. The puppy is too young to have much control over his bladder. Puppies that age should be taken outside after they eat/drink, play, wake up from a nap, etc. Give him some time, he will figure it out.

Well of course pads do not work, all they do is to teach a dog to pee in the house.
