Really, why not? Christians never seemed to pause while doing that during the Crusades and other cruel wars, why stop now?

Not all the soldiers that went on the crusade were christians. A lot of them were mercenary fighters or extremists. Also it's a bit difficult to ask God to forgive you if you pre-plan the sins before you commit them. The prisons of the world are full of people with this same mentality. As others have mentioned it is still against the law and just because God can forgive you doesn't mean man/woman will.

Um, what do you think "Shock & Awe" or the bombing of Nagasaki and Hiroshima was?

I don't think many Christians control any of their base instincts. It seems they forgive each other quite readily as long as the person asks for forgiveness with Jesus. I find this to be a crock, and not water into wine crock either.

If your heart is truly hardened enough to do all of those things without regard for the life you are taking or ruining and the consequences what you do has on others, then you are too hardened to be telling the truth when you apologize to God for what you did. You would not be human enough to really mean it. And trust me, He will be able to tell.

That was before Jesus came, before there was any forgiveness.

God does forgive ALL sins, murder, rapist, and all the rest, cause God knows we all have the ability to change.

becuase its hard to get back on the right track. Yes, He can forgive us....but we have to under go a long and complicated proccess. He warns us not to do those things becuase He doesnt want us to have to live with those memories even after we repent.

Because there are temporal consequences to sin which may remain even after repentance/forgiveness.

Why don`t you let God deside what to do, and when to do it? thats whats wrong with the world today, everyone is doing wht they want to do, instead of what God wants them to do.
