You can't 'look' Catholic. There are Catholics of all different ethnicities. Chalk it up to his ignorance.

I am Catholic, I've never heard that one before. And some people who look Catholic aren't really, on the inside. Strange!

No, I don't think someone can look or not look Catholic. That's ridiculous. But I think that maybe that misperception comes from the fact that many Irish people and many Italians are Catholic. And most of us have an idea in our minds of what Irish or Italians look like (another misperception in itself, granted.) So, maybe some people picture Catholics as being what they stereotypically believe Irish or Italians look like? Not sayin' it's right, but maybe that's the basis for that kind of statement.

Well, you can look Hispanic or Italian, and most Hispanics and Italians are Catholic. You may be able to look Philipino, but I'm not too sure.

I look WASP and have a waspy (although common) name, but I'm Catholic.

So, maybe you can't look Catholic but I agree that you can NOT look Catholic. Oh, you can look Catholic by wearing a rosary, too.

I don't know what looking Catholic means either. I'm Catholic and nobody has told me that.

Catholics have a reputation for being conservative. Perhaps you don't appear to be very conservative. You may dress trendy, for example.

Just goes to show... you can't judge a book by it's cover.

Never heard of that. Someone once thought I was Pentacostal.....I have no idea why. Was it the clean haircut I have? Just a good example of how we prejudge others before we get to know them.
