I am writtting a paper for my debate class on the practice of polygamy or plural marriages.I am wondering if a women who is say an adult helps a minor is say 15 or underage cross state lines to get away from a plurual marriage can the women who helped said girl who wants to get away from a plurual marrriage be charged and go to jail.Please give me the site you got the information off of as well.

no because the woman isn't doing anything illegal to get the underage girl across state lines. if the girl is going by her own free will and isn't being kidnapped by the woman, then she is doing nothing wrong to get away from the illegal act of polygamy.

As a general rule it is illegal to facilitate a minor's flight from its parent's authority. If someone believes a minor has been or is about to be subject to abuse, the proper action is to notify law enforcement or child welfare authorities.

sorry i have looked all over the net to find something to confrim or diene this but i could not. but i think they can not be jail it the girl leaves on her own.

yeap, kidnapping is what she'll be chaged with even if the other girl was willing to go with her.
