How Can You Tell if a Shy Guy Likes You?

Well, I'm in high school, and there is this guy who is really, really cute, and really really smart. I only have one class with him, and that's a lunch block. He's a senior and I'm a junior, and we're both really, really shy. When ever I see him, he always looks directly at me, perfect eye contact and everything. But I'll look back, and he'll look for a few more seconds either before him or I look away. I haven't talked to him, because I'm really shy, and he's the same way. But, the same thing happens every time I see him. He's often alone, and I really don't know what to do...
