Voted Democrat my entire voting age until 2000..,when the democrats wanted to discredit the military vote because it was a few days late coming in from overseas due to a storm. If anyone deserves the right to vote its the men and women that defend this country.I am a proud republican now and a conservative one at that.

The way things stand now Hillary doesn't stand a chance in '08, but that could change. Hillary has done more to polarize, and cause division within the Democratic party than any other Democrat living or dead. Her stance on the war on terrorism, along with the situation in Iraq, and Iran does not square with extreme left and as a result, has caused a rift within the party. If she ran today it could very well be the best thing that could happen to the Republicans. It would not surprise me at all if Hillary doesn't run. I disagree with you that she's a shoe-in for the nomination. Even though she's the most powerful member of the Democratic party, many Dems are distancing themselves from Clinton.
The old saying that one week in politics is an eternity is true, and Clinton could get back into the good graces of the Dems, but then she'd be accused of being a waffler, just like the Republicans accused Kerry (and that tactic worked). If she decides to run she'll have to rebuild burnt bridges, and move further to the left in order to gain her party's nomination. Hillary also carries a lot of baggage with her. The FBI file scandal, her failed handling of the education system in Arkansas, the humiliating defeat of health care reform she under took when Bill was in the White House, Whitewater, Vincent Foster, and others.
It's not impossible for her to get the nomination, and then be elected, but she'll have to dance very fast and very well to pull it off.

Being Scottish I can't vote but although I want the Democrats to win having Hilary as candidate would ruin any chance of this. I think she is too right wing ironically enough and supporting the war in Iraq was dumb. I think the ideas she had for healthcare years ago were good but obviously unacceptable to big business.
The main problem is she will never appeal to the voters of the Midwest and South the Democrats need to win to get into the White House. Rightly or wrongly she is probably perceived as being part of the Washington elite and the Republicans and their media friends would slaughter her in a campaign.
I was struck by John Edwards watching the last campaign. He has the background required - from the South, rags to riches, heck just get him to go to Church all the time and the votes will come piling back!
If I was a Democrat I'd be working hard to make sure there's no more dirty tricks at the ballot box as much as anything. Be vigilant!

As a Christian i'm finished vote casting for the Republicans. as quickly as I voted for G.W. Bush i became vote casting for the least of two evils. Neither social gathering it style of feels can produce an exceptionally righteous candidate. i became leaning in direction of Mike Huckabee till the day gone by as quickly as I found out He has common an endorsement from Kenneth Copeland , a charismatic televangelist whom I planned to be a phony and a funds grubber . Now i'm not so particular approximately him. he's an ordained Baptist Minister and so I felt i'd desire to vote for him in self assurance. Oh nicely. If i'm not completely confident that a candidate is a guy of God then i'll write down in Jesus Christ and vote for the LORD. in the tip it style of feels the two events are bent on the destruction of the U. S. . The Democrats will lead us into ecu type Godlessness swifter than the Republicans and the Republicans will lead us into Armageddon on the incorrect section (anti Israel) swifter than the Democrats. the two way the U. S. is doomed and ripe for the judgment of God.

Hillary Rodham-Clinton is NOT electable, at least not until everyone who remembers her claiming her "co-presidency" during her husband's first term of office. She made many enemies with her health-care scheme and how she conducted herself during her husband's impeachment investigations. At the time she had no clue how to work within the system, and that's the way the game is played in our country.
I grant that she is very intelligent and a savvy lawyer, but she is abrasive and not a gracious person. Whether she has learned enough as a Senator to grind off the rough edges remains to be seen. She may be of more use to the Democratic party by remaining in the Senate. Edward Kennedy is also unelectable to the Presidency because people remember Chappaquiddak, but he is very effective in the Senate.
A free pass for Republicans in '08? Hardly. Like the Democrats, the Republican's candidate will have to prove himself/herself. And no matter what they say in stump speeches, the reality of being in office will determine what actually happens. I'm certain George W. Bush's presidency would have looked far different if 9/11 had not occurred.

First Hillary would have to make the primaries before she could be considered a candidate for the presidency. I am pretty much a democrat, but I think there will be other candidates in the primary that are more suited to the job. As for Republicans, I think Bush has tainted his party, so it's pretty iffy to say right now, but I kinda doubt if they will get in again.

You run that pig hillary and the republicans will be back. Republicans could almost stomach bill, but hillary is hated, and half the Democrats hate her too. You will see a revolution if that dog gets in.

The repuglican hate machine has cranked up full blast on Hillary and I am afraid that she is unelectable. I would however vote for her as she is a strong, intelligent woman that is not afraid to stand up for what is right. Of course after the W. Bush fiasco I wouldn't vote for a repuglican if the democrats run Charles Manson.

You can't go home again. So no, she has no chance because unlike Bill she has no charisma and she always looks stiff. Moreover, people said the same thinga about Liddy Dole (Bob's wife) and look what happen to her. The Dems should use Hillary as a fund raising draw, then find a decent candidate to run.
