Serious question.

Does anyone know?

And, if no one has, why haven't they so we could lay to rest the discussion over whether or not it was possible and/or feasible?

(this was inspired by corey's answer to DNA ark question)

Thanks, Jeff, but that site appears to be pure speculation and quotes unidentified "scientists" as their experts.

To Corey:

When I read your answer to that other question, it made me curious as to what attempts, if any, had been made to actually duplicate the feat.

Apparently, no one has.

You like that JT?

I bet it would be a gruesome mess.

Basic engineering can tell you that no wooden structure the size nessecary to transport all the animals of the world (or even with sufficient space for their DNA) would do anything but buckle under its own weight the moment it hit the water. We're only able to make gigantic ships today because we use steel, which is much less inclined to bend and snap.

There have been a few individuals who have replicated an ark in their back yards, but none that were actually taken to water.

I'd love to be able to answer this question, but sorry, I don't know.

I would love MORE for some fundie to be able to give you the answer, for after all, they got all the dimensions for the thing. I'd really like to know how Noah got around including the species that were not discovered at the time (more are discovered every day). And the hardcore crazies at places like AIG say Noah included two of every DINOSAUR species as well, who as you know inhabited the earth at the same time as humans. (We made them extinct after the flood, which is why their bones are everywhere. Apparently.).

Good luck, I can't wait to hear their answers.

(Oh, and on a less serious note, I hope they can explain why he included woodworm, and how he got away with doing so.)

I am quite sure that scientists HAVE done scale model replica's of the ark as described in the bible, and found that it was a design that would have been nearly impossible to capsize, even under massive tidal waves and such.

and I'm pretty sure they've done mathmatics to work out that it would have been possible to fit the described animals and such, if you use the idea of it being a single set representing each genus or something like that.

Since there's not going to be another flood and God hasn't agreed to send two of each kind to an ark why would anyone bother? Why do you need proof ... oh ye of little faith. Check out AnswersInGenesis.org just to see some of the stuff there. It's not difficult to believe and GOD, not Noah, sent the animals to the ark. There would've been TWO dogs - not two of every breed (two of each kind, not specific breed). God bless you as you seek the truth. ~Nise

the first answer says it all. He says seriously get a grip. He trolls all my questions insulting me.

If the Bible is true, as they say, they say salvation through Jesus is dependent on a blood line that stems from adam and eve.

That means that the story of noah would be true since noah is in the blood line. They also rely on this heavily as an explanation as to why the rocks we see are older than 6000 years old.

If the story of Noah's ark is a lie, then the whole bible is a lie.

If we doubt one passage why not all. Why not Acts 1:9-11? where jesus is ascended.

This question is brilliant.

Observe the Christian answer. Null and void.

I just want to know why Noah brought cockroaches and other pesky creatures on the Ark.

I think Christians/Muslims and Jews are aware subconsciously that Noah's ark is untrue. Which is why they will always have an excuse for not attempting it. they know its impossible.

I can't see how it could be fully duplicated, unless the flood comes again. If anyone is experimenting...I have twin brothers I'd be happy to throw on board....or over-board
