I mean come on...if you're that stuck in your rut, why would this site be of any benefit? If FAITH supercedes all in your mind....naw...in that case you're just lying to yourselves, making Faith be knowledge. But knowledge is man-made. God implied...'Okay I'll give you the whole planet..now YOU figure it out. What am I(GOD) like, capable of, you figure it out?. How could you possibly know if it was God or Satan driving you or wrote the Bible..anything?

If someone had a religion where the old ones used to burn animals, cheat/enslave strangers and commit genocide in the name of God....wouldn't you be skeptical?

I would definately be skeptical, because that was the old way of doing things (Old Testament) and now we are under a new law and way of life (A.D.) Although I choose to believe that everything in the bible is true (to back up my faith). There are so many things to me that seem to contradict each other. And on the whole (GOD) like thing I wish that I was half Holy Spirit/Angel so I could do those works or have powers.

i understand that atheists think of that any help or care believers see as having come from God isn't something better than condition, that's wonderful. For my own motives, i've got self assurance there have been circumstances in my life whilst God took care of me. He did it back whilst i became into an atheist, and he does it now whilst i'm a believer. the earnings to me now, as a believer, is the satisfaction of understanding whom to thank.

I love that reponse personally. It sums up the individual you're dealing with, who in essense has said:

"I believe I know it all. I like believing I know it all. Don't bother telling me I don't know it all because I'm not listening." You immediately know not to waste another second and move on, whereas others may give an impression of an open mind that's not and can waste hours of your time.

A wise man has original thoughts that he has accumulated throughout his life. A fool can only parrot a five thousand year old fairy tale that was written before man worked his way up to the dark ages.

No, it is not okay. It is rude, arragant, and comes from very highly inflated egos.

If someone says this to you in person, just watch and you will see them smile in glee after saying this. They are so proud of themselves because they think they have said something witty and look good in God's eyes by doing so.

thats the thing about Faith You Know its God talking to you, because you have a relationship with him,

to you your knowledge of waht you see tells u that there is no god, but my faith tells me that there is and hes with me but,

if your talking about religion to someone and they say God said this so its right then its right because he said it

Only if you don't expect anyone with a brain to agree with you. And if you give me the right to tear your ridiculous superstitions to shreds.

No. That answer is an intellectual cop-out, even if you believe it to be absolutely true. It does nothing to further mutual dialogue; in fact, it usually stops meaningful dialogue right in its tracks.
