Communicate about it first. That way there are no misconseptions about what happens. talk about what youre comfortable with, and dont be afraid to be honest. If you are both comfortable with it then proceed slowly. Hold hands, hug, kiss, but take it slow and make sure its what you both want.

everyone looks like an idiot when they first make out, but it's usually okay because it's someone who's just as expirienced as them. chill, it'll come naturally. there's no "steps".
