The "spirit is at war with the flesh".
The flesh, (the body), making us selfish and exploitative of others.
And the spirit, (the conscience), making us feel bad about it.
Thus the paradox. And the cause of denial, self-rightousnes,
and hypocrisy.
Making a big deal out of other peoples chit, to keep the attention off our own.
But it don't work!
