I am looking to a decent good running car or van

Look for older vehicles sold by private parties. Make sure that the car title matches the ID of the seller, if they title is not in the sellers name, run from the deal!

Have the vehicle checked out by your own mechanic, prior to purchase. Understand that you are not going to get a perfect vehicle, but you want one that is in good mechanical shape!

Go to a "buy here/pay here" lot and ask them if they have any decent cars or vans that customers have traded in, and offer the $1200 to them.

I am leary of personal (non-lot) sellers anymore.

the car will cost a fortune if we don't know where your at and we find it and we are here and you are there, that's what you didn't put in the information nd there for you can't retrieve it
all dealers have tents sales and there bottom line lets you in on the $3000.00 cars when they go on discount at the sale open your local newpaper and dig in. their all into it now cause winters coming
