It can't be. My parents got married in September and they've been married 40 happy years! The only bad time to get married is when you're not ready to commit to your partner.

I don't think it is; I heard it was May. "You'll rue the day you married in May." This is because May is regarded as the start of summer, and as such there are lots of outdoors pagan festivals such as Beltane.

"Married when the year is new, he'll be loving, kind & true,
When February birds do mate, You wed nor dread your fate.
If you wed when March winds blow, joy and sorrow both you'll know.
Marry in April when you can, Joy for Maiden & for Man.
Marry in the month of May, and you'll surely rue the day.
Marry when June roses grow, over land and sea you'll go.
Those who in July do wed, must labour for their daily bread.
Whoever wed in August be, many a change is sure to see
Marry in September's shrine, your living will be rich and fine.
If in October you do marry, love will come but riches tarry.
If you wed in bleak November, only joys will come, remember.
When December snows fall fast, marry and true love will last."

September sounds good to me!

It is LUCKY to marry in September;
October is unlucky for wealth in the marriage:

"Marry in September's shrine, your living will be rich and fine."

"If in October you do marry, love will come but riches tarry."

I've never heard that either but now that you say it, well it might have some truth to it. I was married in Sept and it didn't last, wait maybe it had nothing to do with the month...just the fact that we couldn't stand each other after a few years...lol.

I do not believe it. I think it is just superstition.
