You have mostly answered your own question there. The worlds society has teenagers all tagged with the same label, trouble makes, skivers and lazy, where as a majority of them hard hard workers, attend school daily and generally get a good job after finishing university. However there is the minority who do come into the category I first mentioned, With in that group you have to have what they call street credibility and even better if you have a gun. the problem lies is where do they get the guns? If the government provides more affordable entertainment for such teenagers and put more work into collecting information regarding as to where the guns are coming from, our towns and city's may be a better place to live in. Yet don't blame it all on the teenagers, ask the parents where THERE children are.

It has to do with the fact that it is easier to get in a gang, get a gun, rob people, and do what you want than it is to hold down a steady 9-5. And the pay is usually better. And a lot of parents figure by the time their child is 12 or so he can handle the responsibility of being alone and doing what he is supposed to do and they fail to notice when things begin to go amiss. Once on a downward spiral, a teenager is on a rollercoaster ride to either an early grave, unplanned pregnacy, or fantasizing about shooting up all the people they feel have slighted them at school and then actually do it. It can be stopped but usually it is too late by the time mom and dad notice the child's behavior is really as bad as it seems and it not just a faze he's going through. And no the schoolwork is not too difficult, he is just too cool to do it or simply does not have the self respect to care about where his life is going. A teenager is ten feet tall and bulletproof with no real understanding of their own mortality. American parents today are more lax about the rasing of their children because they are the ME generation, to which I belong as well, and they were not taught that you have to put your wants and desires aside in order to make sure your child's needs and wants are being met. You cannot simply supply them with a microwave and frozen pizzas and a T.V with all the acoutremonts and then leave them to fend for themselves. You have to be involved in what they are doing, whoa they are around, what are their hobbies, what did you do at school today. Too many of us want to be a friend to our children because we have been conditioned to think it will create a stronger bond and that way they will know they can always come to you with any problems. So they think....You cannot be your child's friend, they already probably have too many of the wrong type. You have to be a parent and that means being nosy and invading their personal space every now and again. There is no such thing as privacy in a house you pay the bills on. Childhood is an interactive journey that will end way too soon anyway. Why waste it by being less than all they need. Nuture them, teach them, teach them that in order to gain priviledges you have to earn them, the same with trust. Tell them you love them everyday because one day they might not be there and you will always regret what you did not tell them. Teach them values, and help them find their own way in this world. Love them and let your child see it in how you treat them and what you say and they will learn to value themselves and have self worth.

Why are you people so hard on us teenagers? There are far too many small minded people who are too quick to judge groups of young teens just because of the clothes they wear or because the color of their skin as being violent thugs, with the lack of stuff to do in most places and being constlantly stereotyped is it any wonder teens feel so much animosity towards the world. I think some of you people forget how difficult it can be being a teenager and as your not teenagers right here and now you cant possibly know wot its like to grow up in todays society so how can u judge?????

because their parents allow them to do this kind of thing and run riot.
the kids think they are 'big and hard'
i dont think it is lack of understanding teenagers, we have all been teenagers and i have raised 2 but we didnt go around in gangs with weapons.
they should be picked up off the streets and put in the army to learn disciplin and right from wrong. they actually might grow up to be useful and decent.

Its because of corruption amongst our (and I mean Worldwide!) affluent policy makers and politicians. Us 'The Masses' are so fed up with it all, we see these people in the newspapers getting away with murder and lots of money. Our disillusioned youth want some of that. Chill out people! it would really put things in a spin if we stopped being consumers. Ask yourself, what is really going on in this world! They have driven people to consume goods and celebrity. There is much more to this life than drugs and bling!

Gramps incorporates a gun because of the fact the senile old coot confuses fact with fiction and thinks he's residing interior the wild west alongside with Kirk Russel, John Wayne, and Charleton Heston. advance up, choose for a walk, and style fact for a metamorphosis.

In my view it's a combination of lack of discipline both at home and at school, peer pressure and lack of amenities because the councils have sold them off to fund more jobs for pointless little jobsworths\penpushers. Take note Supernanny - the poxy naughty step DOES NOT WORK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

because it's now against the law for the parents to give them a good crack in the head when they start acting like little thugs....
I am able to legally carry a gun for sport and protection now as an adult because my old man beat the sh*t out of me when I acted like a hoodlum when I was a kid. It sure as hell changed my mind from wanting to commit a crime or hang around with garbage.

i belive its just kids trying to be part of a group .. theres nothing for teens to do its either sit around with electronics in the house or socialise with friends and most would pickthe later but the growing need t protect yourself and look out for number one looks like one of the big reasons the kids claim they carry these weapons... its a sad day when you cant say hello to someone in passing without the fear that you said hello to the wrong person in the wrong mood.. and it aint just kids !!

Because its fun.
As ateenager I used to enjoy thrashing my motorbike around but thats become very difficult to do now so it is much easier to get an AK47 than a RD250 "elsie" and then you need some mates what knows about ballistics and that ****, whereas we was into reed valves and expansion boxes. Trouble is we used to kill ourselves but todays youth kill others, bet their mums prefer them being into nice safe guns though instead of nasty dangerous motor bikes.
