flip your hair upside down and spray with hairspray to get the BIG HAIR look. You can use the blowdryer while spraying. tease your hair at the base and continue spraying the hair. OR you can hot roll your hair and spray lots of hair spray to get the BIG HAIR LOOK.

Two words for a good authentic 80's hair style "big hair" If you have your hair teased, curled and hair sprayed with a lot of volume...think Joan Cusack in Working Girl...then that is what you would call typical 80's style rocker hair.

Aqua Net Hairspray. That can hold the "Big Hair" up for weeks!!
I used to blow dry my hair while bending over and I would spray a lot of Aqua Net while in this position. Wait a few minutes, flip upright and continue spraying while poofing out the sides. I had about 5 inches of hair on all sides and up top. That's Big Hair!!!

What 80s style hair are you looking for exactly? I can tell you this, as someone who was there and did that in the 80s, the haircuts that people have these days will not support the "big hair" of the 80s. The reason hair was so big in the 80s is because it was cut in several layers with short bangs in front and often permed. Since hairstyles these days tend to be all one length, or long layers, with either no bangs or long wispy bangs and NO ONE (except people who are still stuck in the 80s or who live in Dallas!) gets their hair permed anymore, it is extremely difficult to get the hair as big as the 80s chicks. But, since it's so close to Halloween, you may be in luck! Go to the costume store and try to find some big hair wigs! Otherwise, the closest you'll get to 80s hair is to tease it and use a TON of Aquanet hairspray-yes, the old school aerosol spray kind which you can still find on the bottom shelf of most drug stores. Or, just do the side ponytail.

tease your bangs up so that they make a big wave and then spray it them till they are stiff. as for the rest of the hair- either crimp or make perm like waves and spray it till it is stiff. You should use TONS of hairspray

big hair was totally the thing. so you can use a crimper and lots of mousse and/or hair spray to make your hair big. also, ponytails on the side of your head were really cool

big and poofy was the age back then. Use gel or mouse and blow it out and up or tease it. just make it big lool

dont go to the barber or the salon. wash your hair every 4 or 5 days. you're good to go.
