Hey~ First off, congrats on deciding to take the plunge with braces. I have had braces on for about 3 months now. The most pain I felt was when they put spacers in to make room for the bands around your molars. The actual process of getting braces didn't really hurt. For the first few weeks I did have some trouble biting into food. Just try to stick with soft food in the beginning until you get used to it. I'd recommend getting an electric toothbrush, as they seem to clean your teeth a lot better. And make sure you floss at least once a day, otherwise plaque will build up around your brackets. As for the colors, if you're feeling brave, go for a bright one. If not, you can always rely on gray. If you're getting metal braces, the gray blends right in. The thought of braces does take some getting used to, but don't worry too much. The results are what counts the most. Good luck!

I will have my braces for another 4 months or so. Mine dont have rubberbands so there isnt any colors. I heard the rubberbands are more annoying, but anyways it only hurts when they first put them on because your mouth isnt used to them (they are gonna annoy the inside of your lips or when they tightin them. Its more of an on going annoyance that makes the pain, but its not always like that ,most of the time you dont notice them , you'll be fine good luck

It does not hurt when they put them on but they ache and hurt after and with each tightening. Also you need wax because they can really rip the inside of your mouth for some people while they get used to them. You can change the color of the elastics at every change . Pink is cool because it looks like you like them and there is no mistaking pink for food stuck in them.

don't worry....it hurts but not that much....i jus got my braces off 2 weeks ago. When they put them on, you can't feel anything. But they will hurt for the next 2 weeks because your teeth will be moving. after 2 weeks u don't feel a thing.

I would DEFINITLEY take Advil before you get them on. Your teeth will be very sore for about three days, but it is definitley worth it. For colors, I would pick something light, like pink, blue, or lime green. Don't go too light though, because it might show stains. Good luck!

Is going to be sore for a few days, but it'll pass! I like orange, it looks nice when I smile, my teeth seem whiter, I don't I just like it, You can also choose two colors .. Good Luck!

I would stay away from dark colors, they might make your teeth look rotted. They dont really hurt that bad, just more uncomfortable. You will be able to eat, but it takes time to learn to work around them.

theyll feel real weird at first, but youll get over it. dont get red or black, it looks like you have someting stuck in your teeth. blue's a good color. grey makes you look like you have plaque.
