Do any of you know any facts about why immigration laws SHOULDN'T be enforced? I'm in the US and I have to debate on the topic:

current immigration laws should be enforced

and I won't know what topic im defending until the debate, so I need to write a case for both sides, but I can't find anything on why immigration laws shouldn't be enforced.

They should be modificated according to the individual situation.

Example one: If a person came here illegally several years ago and has a whole family here. They should not be forced to go back there. They should be made to do some probation and fine.
Example two: If a person in mexico has no proof of birth, IE certificate or whatever, they should have some way to still come here legally. It is not their fault if they are born way out in the middle of nowhere with no doctor present and to a family who has no money to get the proper documentation. We need to modificate the process, so that they have a legal chance to come here.
Example three: The immigration law that applies to births here in US. Two illegals should not be able to give birth to an US citizen. One parent should at least have to be a US Citizen in order for the child to automatically be one.

According to me, reasons that Immigration laws should not be enforced are"
_ Most of people who are illegal immigrants, they are really poor, they don't have any good job with the high salary because they don't have enough paper-works to look for a great job!
_ Illegal immigrants are not bad 100% ( some are bad, some aren't) and some are really good in knowlegde.
---> The Government could keep them, force them to do something like they have to work more?? SOmething like that to overcome their acts!

Think like:
-corporate interests that profit from cheap foreign labor
-ethnic lobbyist seeking to increase political base
-religious activists
-humanitarian
-civil libertarians who focus on human rights and other ethical concerns.
-Elvira Arellano
-A Reconquista
And you'll cover some of the basis for not enforcing immigration laws.

Ok these arent the best reasons but sinc no1 else helped you ill give it a shot

1) We have good ties with Mexico's President (including oil) and keeping immigration laws loose keeps us in a friendly postition

2) We as of yet do not have much of a great plan in preperation for restricting the borders so most of the mediocre ones we have in place would probably just be a waste of money.

3) Mexican workers do alot of the jobs that alot of americans dont want to do.

Im sorry those arent the best reasons and they are really easy to refute but maybe you can elaborate on those points.

They shouldn't be in forced because pretty much almost everyone here in America has migrated from somewhere. Except for the Native Americans. So all these people talk crap when their ancestor were in the same predicament them self many years ago. They had a chance to come and live in the land of the free so why cant we give them the same chance.

Good luck defending why they shouldn't be enforced. I can't think of ONE single reason why not only shouldn't they be enforced but they should be strengthened
