Well it really depends how many ours a day you practice.
I'd say if 3 or more hours daily than you might wanna change your strings every couple of months (every 2 to 3 months). If you practice less than that, you don't need to change them that often. It's pretty individual though. If you feel like the strings don't ring as nicely anymore, or intonation becomes trickier, than it's definitely time to change them.

I would say, from 1 day to a 1.5 years. You should know, that the better strings are the longer they last without "playing the tricks" on a performer. But the violists very often have problems with strings. You have to be in a rehearsal room at least 1 hour before the rehearsal starts, especially in winter. This way you can prepare your instrument for orchestral (solo, ensemble) use. If you have any doubts about your strings (or other parts of the instrument) it is strongly advisable to take a very cautious look at them and fix everything as necessary. And don't over-tighten the strings! Wish you all the best.

about a year on the thickest string if you play every day. The thin strings wont last you quite as long, and they will get thinner and thinner till they snap. but for the most part tehre inexpence

Its effortless guy do this, Your going at it, or jacking off inspite of it really is you do... at the same time as your getting close... no longer to close, yet close adequate that you'll carry it again, supply up... doing some thing else only for a min or so... then bypass again at it... you may want to do this again and again and over and it acually make the adventure so significantly better suited!

About two years. That's how long mine last. But sometimes they go awry and last shorter becasue of some thing or other....(usually becasue they're not good quality).

two or three times a year. but they dont sound as good in the beginning because you have to break them in
