In order to get the upgrade version you have to have Windows XP currently. They are the exact same thing, you just get a discount on the upgrade.

Upgrade will only UPGRADE the windows, and full version is a total new "thing" which you have to install.

When you will buy you will have to buy the "full" version!

There is no upgrade for the vista.
It is a new standalone version of windows

Upgrades are usually cheaper. But I always recommend buying the full version just so you don't have issues if you have to reload both programs. But I would also wait before you buy vista till some of the bugs are worked out.

Software developers have a tendancy to release such programs early and let their customers work out some of the minor bugs.

You would buy the upgrade version if your system already has XP installed. The full version is needed if you do not already have windows O/S installed.

A full version means it is more capable of doing what it was made to do and an upgrade is to improve what you already have it fixes errors and stuff like that. i hope this is somewhat of a help to you.

improve variations require that homestead windows XP or homestead windows Vista are put in on your computer earlier setting up homestead windows 7. complete variations do not require a previous version of homestead windows to be put in on your computer. So in case you want to do a sparkling installation with a homestead windows 7 improve CD, you could, yet you want to position in a sparkling replica of Vista (or XP) first., you won't be able to installation the 7 improve on an empty/new confusing rigidity.

Other than the upgrade being a few bucks cheaper there are none.
