I knew a friend who quit, but when he started he wasn't an addict and he always said he wasn't one. But after 2 1/2 years of smoking weed, he just quit. I'd say if you have the strength to get up and quit, do it, but if not go to a center and we'll all pray for you!

I've never been addicted to anything, but maybe I can offer some general advice. Maybe you should ask yourself why you need the high. Do you consider your life to be boring, or pointless, or is there something that is bothering you so much that you cannot simply enjoy your life the way that it is?
I would recommend that you talk to a mature person that you trust, preferably a pastor, or a lay counselor who shares your beliefs & who has also be trained in psychology, in order to find out whether you have a more deep rooted emotional problem that seems to be enforcing the bad behavior.
If you think that your life is boring, then some practical things that you could do is to develop some hobbies or interests that keep you busy. You could volunteer to do things with your church, offer to paint the house of an elderly neighbor for free, find some way to help the homeless, take a martial art or a dance class, learn to play a musical instrument, join a Bible study, etc.

It seems to me you have a much bigger problem than smoking weed. You have wandered away from God. See, He is always the same, so if you feel farther from Him, it is you that has moved.
What you need to do is read your Bible. Read it out loud. God SAID Let there be light and there was light. There is much power in the spoken Word of God, when you read these words outloud you release that into your surroundings, your life. When I have obstacles, I sit down and read a whole book out loud, like all of Romans or all of Job.
If you seek God with earnestness, to worship Him in truth and in spirit, He will give you peace. Your sins will be forgiven and He will take it from you.
I kicked a 23 year cigarette smoking habit doing this.
Actually I only see now that the process was this.
I prayed, sick of trying to figure out what to ask God for to fix my life, and I, disgusted, said "You know what it is, there is probably one thing, that I need above all others that You have been wishing and wondering when I will ever ask for it, well I am asking for it now! Whatever it is, I want it. And by the way could you please help me to stop smoking." And He said OK. Seven years, smokefree! No money spent and people were amazed at how easy it was.
"All things work together for the good of those who love Christ and are called according to His purpose"
Even this.
Stop kicking yourself, forgive yourself because He already has and if He has, who are you to hold a grudge?
Instead of trying to get rid of bad habits, crowd them out with good ones. There is only so much time in a day! IOW, Don't try to stop smoking weed, focus on doing the right things that need doing in your life, above all get back to God!

God is here my friend. You may not always feel Him, but He is with you. When you turned your back to Him and went against what He does not what you doing is probably when you stopped feeling His presence in your life. You have got to pray and believe that God will help you to stop this addiction. He wants to help you, all you have to do is ask Him. You should surround yourself with friends and family that have the same belief system that you do. Otherwise, you will likely fall into the "habit" again. Our body is a temple that should be kept clean for God to inhabit.

I am a recovering alcoholic Christian. He is still and is always there. You have just got things a bit "cloudy" and you can't see Him. I will pray for you but you need to pray for you too. Seriously, tonight or whenever your alone, talk to him and ask him to take it from you. If you really wan't to quit , tell him that. I am not supposed to be here or should I say here and sober. Oct 22 this year is my 5 year sober date. I asked him to take it from me and I can't explain to you what happened or exactly the moment. I did not see anything now did I here anything. A kind of peace just came over me. I don't even go to AA anymore and that is just unheard of. I don't even think about alcohol anymore.
When you are on drugs or alcohol, you thoughts and feelings are not entirely your real thoughts. If you ask Him,He is there, He never leaves you, He just waits for you to call Him.Good luck and God bless!!

I haven't had to quit smoking weed, but I have dealt with addiction. I struggled for years with no real success until I realized I was doing it wrong. You see, you can't quit 'cause you are relying on your strength. I suggest you do the following:
1. Speak to GOD about this problem. In your own words. He does care. Confess the sin to Him and tell Him you want HIM to deal with it. Admit you can't help yourself.
2. Connect with a Living Church in your area (if you haven't already done this) and ask for people who may be able to help you. GOD gave us His family for support.
3. Remain accountable to GOD, and whoever He may give you for support.
His grace will certainly see you through. It's worked for me!

Get high on God! Seriously, just pray about it and fill your life with other things. Take up a new hobby, sport, or activity and you will be so busy doing other things that you won't need to smoke weed anymore.

I would research the net for medical and herbal aids for quitting marijuana. There are plenty of people who have been in your situation. Feeling like God is not around might be a symptom of lethargy or depression caused by the drug. The side effects of marijuana are stronger than most people realize. I will pray for you now. Keep asking for help along the way.

Yes, you are using your marijuana usage as way to explain your distance from God. Marijuana does not do this alone. Marijuana is an herb that God put here for us to use, not overuse. Your mind is weak, and this has nothing to do with the marijuana. No amount of praying on some one elses behalf will make you the person you want to be. You have to make you the person you want be. Stop blaming the herb for your spiritual retinence. It's not just God that goes away when overusing herbs, it's all the things that used to make you happy. God is just one of those things. Moderation is the key to every thing. You have to fix your broken mind before you ask others to waste their time praying for you.

Are you putting weed before God? Who is your God. That helped me when I was kicking a bad habit. I know that my God is stronger than that habit, and I believe that he can heal me of it.
email me and we will agree in prayer together for deliverance if you like.
in Christ.
Father I thank you that your child believes in you.I plead the precious blood of Jesus over now. Fill him with your Holy Spirit and empower him!
I ask that you show him that he is more than a conqueror! That we have no weapon formed against us that will prosper! I believe that we can agree and you will set him free from this habit. I believe that you have healed him, by your stripes. You have worn every disease and sickness for us that we can be free, in Jesus name. I ask that you take all the honor and glory and praise, in Jesus name.
be blessed in Jesus, praying for your victory,
vicki
