Vaseline is hard to get out of hair. It can take many washes to get it out.
If you ever need to deal with head lice again (I hope you don't), try using mayonnaise in their hair instead of Vaseline. Put it in their hair, put a shower cap over it, leave it in overnight and then wash their hair out in the morning (might need to wash 2 or 3 times). Do this about 4 or 5 nights as well as picking the nits out. It works really well. The most important task in getting rid of head lice is to pick all the nits out of their heads. If you don't do this, the kids will just get reinfested.
ADDITIONAL INFO:
I would use a lice shampoo first and then start doing the mayonnaise. The problem with the lice shampoos is that the lice build up a tolerance for them and while they may help, kids are prone to reinfestations if using them alone. Another thing to remember about the lice shampoos is that they are poison (because they are pesticides) and you don't want to use them too much.

I got lice a few years ago and after trying the lice shampoos, the lice came back just about a month later. So I used the Vaseline method, and it got rid of the lice well, but I had the same problem, my hair was all greasy from Vaseline. My hair dresser told me to wash it with baking soda in the shower. I worked wonders!! Completely got rid of the vaseline. Good Luck! =]

First Vaseline doe not remove lice. You have to buy a product called Rid. To remove Vaseline try Dawn dish washing liquid. That's what the salons use for extra greasy hair.

Try head and shoulders. If that doesn't work, go to a pharmacy and purchase head lice shampoo. That's what you should of used in the first place, MOM. Good luck with it though, I feel your pain. Tell the pharmacy your problem and I'm sure he/she will lead you to your product to remedy it.

i does no longer recommend it because Vaseline is extremely greasy and important to get out. you may want to placed a touch on the ends to make the frizz bypass away, yet i does no longer placed all of it over your hair. To make it stronger, decrease what number products/dyes and how a lot warmth you take advantage of on your hair, as too a lot straightening/curling can make it destroy better honestly. also make confident you're starting to be all of your each day supplementations. Mayonnaise will be a good conditioner (extraordinary i recognize). rubdown some into your hair and placed on a bath cap in one day. Rinse it out contained in the morning with chilly water and your hair will be brilliant and healthy :)

Your going to have to keep washing their hair. It will eventually come out. Though, you better treat your home also & consider a real lice treatment from the drug store.
Good luck.

Try using dawn dishsoap, it's pretty harsh on your hair but it works.
