Here are some ideas: 1) Get more sleep. People generally need 8-9 hours until they are 21. Then they need 7-8 hours. 2) It is likely that you are anemic. To fight anemia, make sure you get more iron in your blood. This means choosing foods with high iron content, such as spinach, red meat, GrapeNuts cereal, etc. 3) Reduce your sugar and refined carbs intake (pasta, rice, pizza, sweets) and replace with more protein (meats, tofu, beans, nuts, cottage cheese, milk, soymilk, etc.). If you eat sugars and carbs without enough protein, your blood sugar will spike and then fall significantly, making you feel really tired. Protein helps even out your blood sugar so that you have long-lasting energy. 4) Drink lots of water (no cokes or carbonated beverages). Hydration is important to getting your blood circulating and keeping you alert. 5) Exercise. You'll have more energy if you go out for a walk or jog, or do anything a bit active. Just don't exercise after 8pm, as it can keep you alert until much later! 6) Reduce your caffeine. Don't consume any caffeine after 3pm, or even earlier. If you need a little caffeine in the afternoon (after lunch is when I get sleepiest), try drinking green tea instead of coffee. It only has a little caffeine in it. If you drink something (like coffee) with a LOT of caffeine, it will make you really energetic and then really tired for the rest of the day. You need to avoid that type of roller-coaster with caffeine and sugar, so reduce both.

You definitely need to exercise some time during the day. Exercise will help you boost out your energy level and in the long run, you will have energy that will last you the whole day. I don't think coffee is doing any good for you besides giving you bad breath and making you go to the bathroom. Start drinking more water instead of coffee. You should start by having a healthier life! Good Luck!

Hi! First, can you go to bed any earlier? You really need 7 or 8 hours of sleep to get rested. Coffee can upset your stomach and give you headaches too - it has a lot of acid, and the caffeine can make you crash after you spike.

Try getting more sleep, and eating a well rounded breakfast with protein, fiber and starch. Cut down on the coffee if it is upsetting your stomach.

I hope this helps! Good luck!

Have a light breakfast. Cerals, toast, orange juice or milk. Carry some snacks with you especially fruits. Drink water regularly (actally sip). Candy and coffee and all that is not really good to keep you up. They only give you temporary highs.

Well one thing you haven't mentioned is a good breakfest with your coffee, not just a donut or a bagel. I usually eat a bowl of cereal, glass of juice and a fruit before I join the rat race.
