I'm not sure you will accept a Bible answer, because you do not accept the Bible statement by Jesus on adultery, He made it very clear that unless you received a divorce that was not adultery, and you remarry, you commit adultery, only two actions dissolves a marriage, death or adultery.

Anyway here his your Bible answer pertaining to "forgiveness"

First to clarify what forgiveness is and what it is not. Our concept of forgiveness may have some bearing on our ability to forgive when we are offended by others.

Forgiving others for personal offenses does not mean that we are condoning or minimizing what they have done; neither does it mean letting others take unfair advantage of us. After all, when God forgives us, he is certainly not trivializing our sins, and he will never allow sinful humans to trample upon his mercy. (Hebrews 10:29) According to Insight on the Scriptures, forgiveness is defined as “the act of pardoning an offender; ceasing to feel resentment toward him because of his offense and giving up all claim to recompense.”

Genuine forgiveness is: “recognizing you have been wronged, giving up all resulting resentment, and eventually responding to the offending person with compassion and even love.” It must be differentiated from condoning, excusing, forgetting, or denying an offense; nor does it mean putting yourself back into an abusive situation, to true forgiveness is “letting go of anger and negative feelings."

A reason for being forgiving is expressed at Ephesians 4:32, which says: “Become kind to one another, tenderly compassionate, freely forgiving one another just as God also by Christ freely forgave you.” When it comes to forgiveness, as in other respects, we are urged to become imitators of God.

Refusing to forgive others when there is a basis for mercy can adversely affect our own relationship with God. God expects us to forgive one another. Then we can pray that he will forgive us.

One praying for forgiveness must himself be forgiving toward others. Matthew 6:14,15 reads "If you forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you: whereas if you do not forgive men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses." At Psalms 103:8-14 reads, (8) Jehovah is merciful and gracious, Slow to anger and abundant in loving kindness. (9)He will not for all time keep finding fault, Neither will he to time indefinite keep resentful. (10) He has not done to us even according to our sins; Nor according to our errors has he brought upon us what we deserve. (11) For as the heavens are higher than the earth, His loving-kindness is superior toward those fearing him. (12) As far off as the sunrise is from the sunset, So far off from us he has put our transgressions. (13) As a father shows mercy to his sons, Jehovah has shown mercy to those fearing him. (14) For he himself well knows the formation of us, Remembering that we are dust. [New World Translation of the Holy Scriptures].

As long as you are sincere in your apology to the Lord, you will be forgiven. He knows what is in the hearts of men. We are supposed to forgive one another as Christ forgives us. Corinthians 3:13.

1 John 1:9,10 If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. If we say that we have not sinned, we make Him a liar, and His word is not in us.
When you ask for forgiveness..He says He will forgive, He erases it and remembers no more! thank goodness-huh? :)

Hoping for issues from God, without putting substance in the back of it skill the prayer probable will bypass unanswered. The substance is understanding what God says approximately your situation, or what sort would desire to my prayer take? as quickly as i understand God's provides and what he will do in a given situation, then i will pray and get my petition responded. In some cases, he needs us to handle the placement via chatting with it immediately, not asking him to do some thing. for this reason God already did some thing via putting skill interior us. Mark 11, 23-24. different cases he will miraculously provide us issues we did not immediately ask for, yet consistently needed, "delight your self in the Lord and he shall grant you with the desires of your heart." The data of issues not considered is once you pray without doubting. He provides stable issues to his infants. His infants are people who desire all of him, inclusive of the baptism in the Holy Spirit. Many Christians do not desire this and it short circuits their prayer existence.
