A classic anything. Be it music, literature, or drama. It is a form that is so good it will not be forgotten as long as the living memory is passed on or heard. eg. Beethoven and Mozart 's music, played on instruments of the time to notes written in the universal language of music. The Sex Pistols are 'classic' but I wonder if there music will endure as well as Handel. The Beatles, another example of enduring staying power in peoples psyche. plays can be handed down through the centuries, as long as the written word can be read and appreciated

A classic book is one that changes every time you read it. You learn something new and see a new part of the story each time, and you enjoy reading it the second and third time around.
