I have an HDTV and it has black bars on the top and bottom of the screen. Does anyone know how to get those bars off and make it fullscreen?

The main 3 settings for an HDTV are 4:3 (regular square screen viewing) 16:9 (Widescreen, usually without bars) and 'LETTERBOX' (Widescreen With bars)
Yours seems to be set to Letterbox. Go into your tv's menu and change it to 16:9... Sometimes this has to been done also with your cable/satellite box as well :-)

I is regularly called "complete body" -- and it really is 3x4 format -- which inserts previous type TVs. No -- you gained't have black bars on the proper and bottom. think about empty area on the right and left. once you've an HDTV, you'll favor to apply a tremendous exhibit format DVD (with the bars on the proper and bottom) and then use the Zoom characteristic to fill the exhibit.

If you have expressVu, it could be an aspect ratio issue... but you could also try and stretch the screen to make it fit.. If you have a PVR remote check the very bottom buttons. I think one has a * and says format. try pushing that button.
