ok so the humans were all evil and deserved to die during the flood. so wait here comes the question again. isnt god INFINITELY GOOD AND FORGIVING? what about the animals who had nothing to do with it, why would god flood the world and kill everything, is he like a immature kid with an ant farm that enjoys killing and flooding ants.

so noah build an ark, which he took two animals of each kind. so after the flood was settled the two animals reproduced with each other? it was like an incest and populated the world(like adam and eve?)

Two animals of every species that are in todays world could NOT fit the ark, even it was bigger than the empire state building.

So noah crossed all the continents and took the different million types of animals that exist scattered around the globe? we could say he went to antartica and got polar bears, wow its like he has a map and actually knows where antartica is and has a tranquilizer gun to capture polar bears.

sorry god. im sorry i judged the killing of ur creation, u are god and thus u can magically lead millions of kinds of animals into a boat, then flood the world. of course, how could i question god, he can do anything! even contradict himself.

2006-10-01 11:20:28 · update #3

God didnt flood anything.

it was the creative writers of the story of the flood, that made up this fairy tale. and yes its obviously flawed in thousands of ways, but of course most people think that doubting the bible is doubting the church and then thats a one ticket to hell.

so go on and live in ignorance, and i will pray for u instead.

Noah's Ark is a fantasy copied from the Sumerian tale of Utnapishtam in the epic of Gilgamesh. As you know, Noah's Ark couldn't hold examples of all 3,000,000+ animal species that exist. Noah is dated at 2500 BC or so by some fundamentalists, so the same animals would live then as live now. It'd take a big army to build the 450' Ark and one to put all of the animals on the Ark in years. The Ark would fall apart in the sea. There is no evidence of a world flood, and there isn't enough water to submerge all land. If the polar ice caps melted and all clouds condensed as rain, much land but not all would be submerged, and the water would take a long time to evaporate. The whole tale is so naive that no one who knows science and logic can take it seriously.

What makes you think there were millions of people? It was less than 1000 years since creation and people lived very long lives, having children over a span of hundreds of years, not a few decades. The difference between generations could be 100 years, not 20-30 years like now.

As for all the species, you don't know much about evolution, do you? The Laughing Hyena is related to the Meercat, both coming from the same base genetic material. Felines are also related to each other, as are bears. A Polar Bear is not a different species from a Kodiak Bear, just a different breed, but they can, and do, have cubs together, as a recent find proved.

All you needed was the base genetic forms of each species for the Ark, which means Box, not boat. All these species were found near Eden, since everything was to spread out from there. So, sorry, your argument has not merit.

Using a little logic can go a long way.

As for those left behind, that was their choice, the same choice you face today. The children of the fallen angels were mean to the extreme. I tend to wonder if the skulls they find and think are the missing links in evolution, are really the children of the fallen angles.

I'm not sure I can answer your question toyour satisfaction. At the end, God was sorry and sent a rainbow as a promise that it would never happen again. It kind of makes you wonder that it might simply be a "early man" explanation of some kid's question about "where do rainbows come from?" Except for the fact that several cultures, including the aboriginal culture of North America also has flood myths. There may even be archeological evidence that something of the sort happened at the time, but God is God, and not subject to the commandments. The commandments were for the people, not for him. Same is true for the conception of Jesus in the virginal womb of Mary. It seems to bend the rules, doens't it? Unless you believe that God's relationship with us all is so intimate that we are, body and soul, married to him without ceremony. It could be so. We are his creations, he may do as he wills.

two animals of every species...hm. It was more likely that it was two of every farm animal. Everything else had to learn to swim! It's a bit far-fetched to think that two of every species fit on the ark.

I don't think that the story was about the world as we (modern man) knows it, but the world as the bible writers knew it, or even as the bible writers thought the people of Noah' time knew the world.

Something else to concider, there are flood myths in nearly every mythology out there. To just attack God because of the great flood, you should also attack the other "gods" of the other flood myths. Personally, I think that all the simularites in the flood myths proves that something to that effect happened. Now, as to flooding the whole world, no, but to a great flood coming and people building a large boat, all directed by the great god of they mythology, yes.

As a Catholic, I believe in the bible, but flood myths are in Greek mythology, Egyptian mythology, and many more. Are you aslo blaming Zeus and Ra for deaths due to floods?

People lived in small areas at those times, so it was two of every animal of that region. Not polar bears or penguins.

First of all, Noah didn't have to gather the animals, God made them come to him. Second of all, it wasn't 2 of every species, but 2 of every kind. That means just 2 from the dog kind, 2 from the cat kind and so on and so forth.

The GOD did not murder. They were evil , they were removed.

PEOLE ARE CURSING GO FOR NOT DOING THE SAME TODAY!

The animals came to theARK - no one had to go get them-- READ the Bible again!

They could and did fit in the Ark -- each "KIND".

Seek God first and then understanding will come. It is necessary in all things in life that first we crawl before we walk. You first attempt at god is assuming that you are worthy of judging him even without know him. All of your ability to reason comes from the one who created that ability in you if you can see yourself as that holy where would this holiness come from? You are not worthy to judge God and are not holy but even though you are flawed God loves you enough to come to the world and to be tortured and die in your place. Now it would seem one who considers himself wise enough to judge his own creator would surely understand what God has done for him. Come to God because he loved you the way you are even though you are imperfect. Don't come to God judging him even though he is worthy to judge you to death he has instead died for you. So come to God as one who owes God a debt not one who has authority as you have none. God loves you in spite of the fact that you have hatred on your heart and he can reveal to you true love and compassion as he truly is the one who created these traits in anyone who has them. understand that as evil and hateful and ignorant as we can be God still loved us enough to die for us and you might be able to comprehend just a little of the compassion God has for you.

You already have made up your mind.

Why don't you ask God himself?

Wouldn't that be much easier than ranting here?
