I have a problem, I want more kids, but not in my current relationship. I figure, between divorce and then finding the right man, my time may be running out. At what age will I be too old to have a baby?

Hi Ludie, I would say no more than 40. I am 42 & was thinking about it myself , but when he/she is only 20 , I'll be in 60's!! Scary thought!
Good Luck , whatEVER you choose to do.

Sounds like a ME problem...... you're not happy because you can't have it your way. YOU want more kids, AND the right man to have them with and support them. "More kids" suggests that you already have some, and you don't mention how old you are now. Most medical people will probably say that the risk of complications in pregnancy begins to increase after 35-40, and menopause can be expected around 50. Just think....you could be the oldest Mom at their high school graduation, and be kicking them out of the house just in time for you to think about retirement.

That should be between you and your spouse and your Dr. You will need to find out if your new spouse would want a child, and you need to check with your Dr. to see if you are in physical condition. Remember, if you are older you possibly will not be able to do as much with your children as you did when 20-40 because of possible health issues, as you get older your chances are less in watching them graduate, get married, have children of their own, you will not be able to retire early and travel or move to another climate for x amount of months. The pros's are that you are probably better situated financially, more mature, calmer, more patient. Either way you have lots to think about. Good Luck first in finding the right man after your divorce.

As long as you are healthy enough, energetic enough and willing to gamble with the risks that may occur in older pregnancies, then I don't guess their is an age. Just remember that you want to be around to see the little critters grow up and have little critters of their own and a child with a disability needs lots of love and attention. Make sure you're up to giving 110% to your child especially a child that has special needs which could truly be the case if you have your baby after 40.

Best wishes to you.
