water does nothing. if it did there would be no need to brush and floss. instead of going to the dentist you would just chug some water.

off the wall=water dissolves more things than anything else, so the more dissolved the more penetration the contents of the water have from being dissolved and moving in the solution to weak point of oversight, temp. in your mouth breaks the bacteria in to more combinations peculiar to each persons eating habit, and mostly your fluid habit. there was a relation i recall that put the amount of time a person swallowed in a life time in relationship to having osteoporosis arthritis from not swallowing and early dental problems done on life studies collective informational, that's probably backward may the arthritis was the swallowing loose that created the dental problem, I'm loosing a lil'

Great question! It kills them, or at least stops their reproduction. Most are anaerobic and can't live in the presence of oxygen, the best two sources of o2 is your saliva and filtered tap water.
