Ok, just out of curiosity, this question is for the girls: If you found a guy in the military, would wait for him, or would you have a problem with the whole long distance, deployment time thing? I'm asking this, because my boyfriend is in the Marines, and he's knows now that I would wait forever, but he was hesitant to ask me out in the beginning because he said that guys in the military are used to being dumped by girls for the guy at home. They expect it. Girls: Would you send a "Dear John" letter to your military guy for a guy at home? Military guys: Do you feel that most girls are this way?

I'm not asking this because I'm thinking of leaving him! So you can just cross that off your list. ;) We are getting married next May. I just want to see if the opinion that military guys have of girls is true.

Congratulations I wish you both lots of luck... My husband is in Iraq and I would never think about leaving him for no other man.. He deserves so much better than that.. Even though he's on the other side of the world I'm still faithful.. We have been together for 2 years.. We have only been married for 2 months(we got married when he came home on leave)..... And I wouldn't ask for anything else... You have to be cold hearted to hurt a man that's in the middle of a battle field... I can say that being a military wife is not an easy task.. You have to have love, patients, self- motivation, endurance, you have to be self- sacrificing and definitely celibate.. If you can't do those things than being with a man in the military is not for you....

Every women can't do it, that's why they end up leaving.....

But for women like yourself and I.. We make it all worth them surviving to make it through another day....

Keep on taking care and supporting your future husband.. Being a military wife has so many perks and not to mention you have your own personal HERO...

I wish you luck and happiness....
Continue to support our troops......

I wouldn't send a Dear John letter cause they need to stay focused on what they are doing while deployed. Some girls are selfish and only think about themselves, my suggestion is if you don't think that you can wait on your soldier then don't get involved. A friend of mine was involved with a soldier and he was suppose to take her out on her birthday, he got deployed the night before, he never got to take her, but she was fine with that cause she knew it was coming and she stood by him while he was gone a year. So it really depends on the person I guess.

I would definitely wait for a guy if he was in the military, especially if you were having a long distance relationship with that person before he got deployed.

I would have to say no being a woman in the military and knowing what actually goes on. Guys at home are normally more stable.

As an x g.i. I got to tell ya most gals don't. In the long run its OK and I understand.
In a way it was great being single and traveling all over the world.
And years later when I got back home and got a look at her I was real glad she dumped me.

Look to be honest if you really love this guy you should wait for him but if you tell him you will but you don't mean then you automatically putting a sign up saying you are ready to be a hoe and i don't think you want that so i suggest you sit talk and if you really love him and he loves you then it is definitely worth every second of the time you aren't with him.
