In my experience Spanish is easier. It is very logical and has few exceptions. The pronunciation is also easier.
But you are right it is similar. So if you have learnt Spanish it is not difficult to read Portuguese (or to learn it also).

Spanish! And it will be more helpful because there are more people speaking Spanish than Portuguese. Although Portuguese is very similar to Spanish and it is a nice language.

Any person organizing on traveling to a Spanish-speaking nation sometime in the subsequent months or so have to make this course https://tr.im/sZ3uW from Rocket Languages so that can make a dissent conversation in Spanish or just to realize when people speak to them due to the fact by the time your trip rolls about you need to be conversationally fluent or pretty shut to it with the aid of this program.

I would say Spanish being the easier to learn. I have heard that Portuguese is quite a hard language to learn, unless you are Portuguese I guess!

I think both are equally difficult. Someone showed strange stathistics... In Europe 4 people speak Spanish for each one that speak Portuguese and in Latin America 2 people speak Spanish for each that speak Portuguese. In Africa 10 people speak Portuguese for each that speak Spanish. And finally, in Oceania, some people in East Timor speak Portuguese and no one speak Spanish!

Spanish is easier as you speak it write it and read it the same way you see it. However, once you speak Spanish, you can understand Portuguese as it is very similar.

These languages are quite similar. Italian is also rather close. Personally, I think Spanish is somewhat easier and more useful for most people. It's certainly spoken by many more people in the world.
