Any child born in Canada is automatically a Canadian citizen, regardless of parents' immigrant status. You would not have to apply for him/her to get it. The hospital should help you fill out the necessary registration forms. Once your child has been registered, you can purchase a copy of their birth certificate from a government office.

Canada does accept dual citizenship, as does USA in your case. (Note: USA does not accept dual citizenship in the case of a new immigrant acquiring US citizenship-- that immigrant would have to renounce their previous citizenship. But since your child would be American by birth-- because of American parents-- he/she would not have to give up their other citizenship)

It's possible that the whole dual citizenship policy may be revised.

Following the rescue of Canadian citizens from Lebanon, there has been a lot discussion about the fact that approximately 7,000 of the 15,000 people for whom the Canadian government paid $85 million to rescue have reportedly returned to Lebanon.

Individuals born in Canada are automatically Canadian citizens.

See this link for information about the Canadian government's policy on dual citizenship. http://www.cic.gc.ca/EnGlish/citizen/dualci_e.html

Looks like the child would have Canadian citizenship, but I'm not sure about the dual part.

At 16 your child would be able to apply for Canadian citizenship based on his place of birth but when he applied for his US passport he would have to give up the Canadian or the US citizenship since the US doesn't allow loyalty to a foreign government.

When you say "decide to give birth in Canada" it sounds like you're not resident there. I think in that case the child would not be a Canadian citizen.

The question is: are they concern to the jurisdiction of the united states. real now, meaning childrens of diplomats are actually not electorate, considering as dependents of diplomats with immunity, they are not "concern to the jurisdiction" of the U. S.. What we desire is a regulation or judicial ruling that pronounces the two mum and dad would desire to be electorate or right admitted extraterrestrial beings to make their infant "concern to the jurisdiction of the united states". no would desire to alter the form.
